Ear Cropping: $400 (Additional)
We use Quailwood Animal Hospital in Georgia for Ear Cropping services. They are 4 hours from me but worth the drive! They do a fantastic dog and have done one of my personal dogs.
If you want your puppy cropped before coming home. Please contact us and we can discuss what type of crop you like.
We have some great resources for after cropping care, posting etc. We will help refer you to some online groups that can help every step of the way!
Please visit our Ear Cropping Page
All of our puppies have been desensitized around different noises and situations. We expose our puppies to loud noises, such as dropping a pot or pan. We open umbrellas around them, and walk them on different surfaces. We want the puppies to be comfortable around different situations in which they will be exposed to in the future. We practice touching the body, paws, mouth, ears and tail. It is very important to socialize the puppies from the time they are born so you don't have skittish, fearful, or aggressive dogs in the future.
I like to use the Rule of 7's Method for puppy socialization.
By the time a puppy is 7 weeks old it should have:
-
Been on 7 different surfaces (carpet, concrete, wood, vinyl, grass, dirt, gravel, wood chips, newspaper, etc.)
-
Played with 7 different types of objects (big balls, small balls, soft fabric toys, fuzzy balls, squeaky toys, metal items, wooden items, paper/cardboard, milk/soda jugs, etc.)
-
Been in 7 different locations (front yard, backyard, basement, kitchen, car, bedroom, laundry room, bathroom, crate, kennel, etc.)
-
Been exposed to 7 challenges (climbed a box, climbed off a box, gone through a tunnel, climbed up steps, climbed down steps, climbed over obstacles, played hide and seek, gone in and out of a doorway with a step, etc.)
-
Eaten from 7 different containers (metal, plastic, cardboard, paper, china, pie plate, frying pan, etc.)
-
Eaten in 7 different locations (crate, yard, kitchen, basement, laundry room, bedroom, playpen, etc.)
-
Met and played with 7 new people (including children and the elderly.)
