A little about me:
I have loved animals since I was little and I knew right away I wanted to work in the animal field. I have a passion for all animals large and small. I have worked at the zoo, completed several internships at local veterinary clinics and volunteered at various rescue organizations. I then worked as a Wildlife Rehabilitator for sick and orphaned wildlife. I have done everything from wrestling birds of prey with broken wings to bottle feeding various orphaned babies such as skunks, squirrels, raccoons and rabbits. Many of my animals are rescues. I have rescued dogs, cats, birds, horses, chinchillas, ferrets, rabbits etc. I have worked with abused and neglected exotic birds for the last 7 years, running a bird rescue where myself and my volunteers work diligently to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for birds with behavioral problems due to their past mistreatment. After much thought and consideration of my personal future and the future of the rescue, I decided to step down from my position as Director of The Bird Rescue and pass the torch to my dear friend and loyal volunteer.
Working as a dog trainer has been so rewarding to me to watch a dog develop and work through different challenges they face through the training process and at the end they are able to do things that their owners may have never thought possible.
Trixie came to me because she was a very unruly and rambunctious puppy. Her new owner bought her from the breeder (Deja Blue Great Danes) and realized she was too much dog for her family! She was puppy play biting and her new owners couldn't control this 5 month old bundle of energy! After some structure and training she is the sweetest dog we have! Through working as a dog trainer and in the veterinary field I have seen too many Great Danes bred carelessly with genetics not taken into consideration. I have always loved the breed and I want to provide quality puppies with a great genetic background!
I am passionate about my breeding program and providing my dogs and puppies with the best diets, exercise and medical care possible! My whelping area is custom built as I could not find anything commercially available to meet my standards for raising my puppies. We have moved to a 12 acre farm in Brooksville, Florida! Our dogs have SO much room to play and exercise!
We hope that all of our new puppy owners can experience the love and joy that Trixie has brought into our lives!
I am a professional dog trainer previously working for Sit Means Sit Cleveland Akron Dog Training for 2.5 years. I am currently working with dogs in protection training and will be taking a course to learn scent detection. I have worked with many breeds of dogs however I have a soft spot for Great Danes. I have always loved great danes and 2 years ago I brought female great dane into my life, that a family bought for a christmas present and realized...great danes are not good suprise gifts!
